2013 year in review

hello all
well this is it the final blog of 2013 seems like yesterday we were just discussing the end of 2012 now the end of 2013 is upon us. If i had to describe this year in one word it would be:

TRANSFORMATION

this entire yea has been about things changing, but not completely. Everything is in flux, and it still is. Whether the change will be a good one o bad is yet to be determines but 2013 was all about the beginnings of change but the end result is still to be determines. All the sacred cows we have had are going away, all the pre conceved notions are dying and all of security is also going. This year has seen a NSA leaker spill his secrets, Two brothers brought terror back to the states. A pope retire and a central American pope taking his place we have seen tragedy and triumph we have seen revival and destruction but more importantly we have seen the beginnings of something we dont yet know what but hopefully we will know by the time 2014 comes into view.

to all i wish a happy new year and may god bless you and all yours in 2014

Red 2 Blu-ray Review

hello all
for about a month now i have had the sequel to Red called Red 2, let me say while the original is better this one is pretty darn good. Bruce willis is great in this film and even though morgan freeman died in the original the new actors are great and add alot of spice and flair to the new one, the effects and story are great and the actors even though most are little over the hill do the scenes great and with alot of style. also Mary louise parker gets alot more action in this one which i think was a major drawback from the original and anthony hopkins plays an excellent crazy scientist. All and all this is a good movie and a great companion to the original

Book Review Founders(Papeback)By James Rawles

hello all
i recently got the paper back book founder and while it was a good read i felt it could have been better first the good

• the story takes what was started in Patriots and survivors and expands it a little telling the tale from the perspective of other characters and elaborating what happened in the first two books.
• the writing is good and well done.
• it is very realistic if this happened this most likely would be the result

• the glossary in the back is a good edition to the book and helps those not into end of the world books to understand alot of the terminology

now for the bad

• while the scenarios is realistic some of the choices made i just could not wrap my head around
• the ending i did not like very well
• and while the glossary i nthe back does help many of the reasons why some things happen are not elaborated with and i believe these were the book could have been better

Final verdict while this is a good book i think it could have been better with a few tweaks.

Superman Man of Steel movie review

I have never been a true fan of superman i have warm memories of the cartoon that came on in the 90's and some exposure to him in the justice league and young justice tv shows but beyond that i have very limited knowledge of superman, but being a comic fan you know a little more than a non comic fan. With that said let me say that i am very pleased with this movie in this movie you could really tell that zack snyder and the rest of the crew really tried to do justice to the superman mythos and cared how things were done. While this is a good attempt and a very well done movie it is no avengers and it is not a great movie.

First off what i like

• the story is well done, all the characters from Johnathan, to martha, to clark, and lois are done and the modern spin on the daily planet is a good shot in the arm the series needed after the fall of superman returns.
• the effects are great they really tried to give you the feel of superman flying fighting and all the super heroics he does.
• general zod is a truly evil villain, from the beginning to the end he is single minded in his belief of what he does and his army follows blindly behind him.

• for dc fans there are a couple of easter eggs you will notice if you look like certain names and what not but beyond that nothing for the dc fans out there.
• The special features are good the examination of krypton is really good as well as the other features and the 75th anniversary short is also very welcome for the fans.
• they also made him more relate able in the movie which is a major plus

Now for what i did not like

• first off zack could have done more to connect this to the larger dc universe now i dont know if this was a decision he made or one made for him but i believe it was a mistake.
• if there ever was a movie that deserved a post credits scene it was superman, this i believe was a major mistake, they could have linked it to the Dark knight saga or they could have set the ground for the now announced superman batman movie they did neither and i think this was an opportunity wasted.
• Marvel movies are know for the little shout outs to the larger marvel universe, little names, events or even characters not known to the non comic fans but little things that are known to the fans this could have been done so many times and while there is one or two there could have been more.
• the movie takes a little bit to get started, and while i believe there was no way around this many movies have this problem they still make the first part enjoyable, in this case it is good but the back half of the movie is so much better.
• some of the changes that have been made to the character many true fans may not like.

This is a good movie and i truly believe that zack snyder and his crew were and did do justice to the character there was so much more that could have been done, this is a good movie with lots of missed opportunities that could have been better.

5 out of ten stars and ok movie but with much untapped potential

Book Review Tom Clancys Endwar (Book three) The missing

hello all
while still feeling pretty bad about the passing of tom clancy i happened upon this book and bought it, let me say i am a big fan of these books and think the paint a pretty accurate picture of how future warfare could happen.

The first thing you will notice that while it bears Tom Clancy's name he did not write it, Peter Telep did and he does a magnificent job of doing so. The action scenes are great the spy versus spy scenes are full of tension and the techniques would be the same as used by military of today's and he explains alot of the military technologies in the book and where they come from, and you can very much tell when a technology is a euro or American or Russian tech.

most of the characters from the previous books are back along with some new one, and the old characters have evolved a bit Like Halveson and Macallen, and the snow maiden. Also the new characters are given alot of depth and you feel connected to them and feel their hurt and their triumphs like your own.

Another good thing about this book is that he looks back to some of the things that happened in the previous books but in such a way that you dont have to have read the books to understand it but if you did it will mean more to you.

there are a couple of bad points, first off i didn't like the ending i think it could have been done better, secondly there are times where the Military tech can get a little outlandish especially with the UAV and the Rods of God space platform. Also the bad guys are so cliche i believe he could have found another bad guy o at the least not make the bad guy two dimensional

Still this is a great book and while i am nit picking it will get you more so if you have read the first two books or even the ghost recon books this is definitely a good buy.

Iron Man 3 Blu Ray review

Hello all
Recently i got the first blu Ray in Marvel's Phase 2 series of movies Iron man 3. Fist off let me say this is a good movie, not great good. Fist off let me say that the extras on the disc are well worth it, the Agent Carter one shot is very well done and adds a little to what happened after captain america was frozen. The features and gag reels are well done and very enjoyable but you can definitely see why they were not included in the movie. The sneak peeks of Thor the Dark World and Iron man and Hulk is a nice add on and the overall feel of the Blu ray is well done.

The movie is good, but after a couple of viewings you can definitely see that they were trying to replicate the darkness of The dark knight Trilogy of films, that aint Iron man and while the ending and the secret ending are good and are worth the price of the Blu ray they could have done better and not try to replicate what Christopher Nolan did but instead go with the vibe of the first two films but add a little darkness to it. Still though this is a good movie and if you are a marvel fan or a fan of the avengers where this picks up from then this is definitely a movie to buy.

Goodbye Tom Clancy

Just a little bit ago i had heard Tom Clancy my Favorite author and author of such books as Red Storm Rising, Hunt for Red October, Clear and Present Danger, Net force and many others has dided in a Baltimore hospital. I am truly saddened by this and my heart and prayers go out to his family. my Favorite book of all time was the book red storm rising he wrote it was a very good book and the first paperback book i read that wasn't from star wars. It was compelling, exciting and incredible and even to this day i still read it. He was a great american author one who will be sorely missed, and i only hope that there will be someone else to take up the mantle he laid down and continue the tradition Tom Clancy started.

Fall shows i have hope for

Hello all
The summer heat is begining to fade away and fall is getting ready to start and with it all the fall shows. Many of these shows i have hope will reverse the trend of the Reality show. But out of the new crop of shows are a few i truly believe will make the fall schedule better here are my picks.

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D(September 24, 7 central, ABC)
I have really high hopes for this series for several reasons, first off it is being directed by Joss Whedon who Directed the movie Marvels Avengers, as well as the very good short lived TV series Firefly. Secondly it is continuing the story started in a movie and doing a series about the world. I have only seen this done one other time and that was with the movie stargate and the Tv series Stargate SG-1. I have really high hopes for this Tv show it comes from someone who does story well, it has a great cast and the previews associated with it have been very positive plus it is an opportunity for other marvel comic heroes to appear and maybe spin-off into the tv shows

Sleepy hollow (Sept 16, 8 Central, NBC)
there is not a whole lot i know about sleepy hollow other than it takes the famous headless horseman tales and brings it to the modern day. That alone sounds very cool.

Arrow Season 2(Oct 9 ,7 Central, CW)
Arrow has proved to me it is something special with last season but from what i have heard this season is going to be epic, more cameos from other dc heroes, Finally seeing Oliver becoming the Green arrow instead of the hood, al;so the prospect of the Flash spin off starting on Arrow plus the action of the series has me waiting for more

Bones Season 10(September 17th 7 oclock central Fox)
The last season of bones ended with a big cliffhanger and a dark cloud over Bones and Booth and Baby Christine and with Pelant still on the loose they are going to need to be united with each other and with the rest of the jeffersonian to bring him down once and for all, plus rumors of a wedding continue for Bones and Booth

Castle season 6(September 23 9Central, ABC)
The last season of bones left off with a question, this season will have the answer ass well as the same antics, tension and action that have all us castle fans love

These are my tops picks but there are others like The Waling Dead that are also on my radar as well as the underground hits that i have yet to discover, here is hoping that these and the other scripted shows can save us from the boredom of Reality Shows.

Gi Joe Retailiation Blu Ray Review

Hello all
Let me say i liked this movie i saw the first Moive GI joe Rise of Cobra and this movie picks up from that and while it does leaves things out it also adds alot to them.

Pros
first off the new characters such as jinx, roadblock, Flint and Lady jay are great joes and add alot to the team and the movie and having snake eyes and Duke back on board connect the two movies.The new Cobras Firefly, and is awesome as a bad guy and the new look for cobra commander is a throwback to the old cartoon series unlike the first one which really tried and failed to do it's own thing.

Secondly the story of the movie is great, continuing where the last one is left off, and showing the Joes on the ropes really brings out the characters and they really show the situation they are in, and the authenticity of the tacitics boths sides use is pretty good but is surrounded by some crazy technology and the end has a big twist that could show where the series could go.

the special features are great my favorite is the option to choose the scheme of the blu from cobra red to G.I.Joe blue. The deletes scene are cool and commentary is pretty wicked, the main pull though will be the mission briefing that describes the production of the movie and shows how the movie was made.

Cons
There are not alot of cons but a few

first of there are times where you have to ask why a character did this or that and makes you go why did he do that and it deviates from the establish character canon

There could have been more explaining of how storm shadow suvived and how duke got to be leader of the joes

the ending can be a little to fantadstic for me but it was still awesome/

Finally there could have been more deleted scenes four wasn't enough for me

In the end this is a great popcorn movie and is good but turn your brain off at that door

Book Review Dan Browns Inferno

well i just got through reading the latest Robert Langdon novel and lety me say it was a good book but it also has its probl;ems. First off lets get to what is good about the book.

1. Robert langdon is in uncharted territory. One of Robert Langdons greatest gifts is not just for symbolism but also his ability of haveing a photographic memory. In this book at the very begining it was taken away from him, this leaves him in very uncharted territory and Dan brown really breings this through

2. the action is good. Throughout the book the action is swift and the characters reaction to things is very real and you can feel the emotion of the moment come throough.

3. the characters are not cokkie cutter bad guys or good guys. This is one book were the landscape of who is bad and who is good is always changing from the first page you think you got things figured out but by the end only person you really have faith in as far as where he stands is Robert langdon and there were more than a few OMG moments where the tides sift and suddenly good is bad and bad is good.

However there is some bad things too

1. Book requires you to do some research. IF you have never been to venice or florence this book requires you to look up some stuff online to get what it looks like. Now while this aint necessary a bad thing if you are just looking for a good afternoon yarn or something for you to read during flights this may not be the book for you.

2.There are times when you get confused Throughout the book there was times were i got confused with much of the jargon and while this is eventually made up for later it did pull me out of what was going on a little.

Overall this is a good book for some late night reading but if you are looking for a time killer then you might want to go somewhere else, still though i cant wait for the next robert langdon book

Comic Con Highlights

hello All
well while this year there was no G4 coverage of comic con alot of information still leaked out from the geek festival known as san diego comic con:

1st Avengers 2 is now known as Avengers Age of ultron
Joss wheedon bucked the trned again and decided know to go with thanos as the bad guy for the next avengers film but another big bad guy from the avenges universe ultron. And while his origin story will have been changed i think he will do the character justice

2nd Jamie foxx as elctro in the Amazing Spider man 2 is awesome
 I will admit when jamie foxx was announced as Electro i had my concerns but after seeing him in the trailer for the comic con panel he looked awesome lets hope the movie is just as good

3rd the ps4 will win this console war
sorry xbox owners but even though they retracted their god aweful restrictions the ps4 games look better and frankly look geared towards gamers

4th Captain america the winter soldier is awesome and so is Agents of Shield
the Agents of Shield tv show and the next Thor and Captain america movie are going to be awesome

E3 Reflections

Well E3 or the Electronic Entertainment Expo has come and gone now for those of you who don’t know what this is. E3 is the expo where are the big time video game companies show what they got coming out for all the gamers out there and now that it has been a couple of days past and everything has set in we can reflect. Well here is what I have to say about the good things,  and the disappointments. Lets start off with the disappointments

Disappointments
1. Microsoft
How could you do this to us Microsoft. The whole you need to check in to the internet every 24 hours or you can play your game stuff is bull. If I buy a game I don’t want to check in to play it  I WANT TO PLAY IT simple as that. Also what about people who don’t have high speed what are they to do espically after the 360 goes away what then huh. Microsoft this year I was giving you the benefit of the doubt I had an open mind I was really hoping to buy you for the sole purpose of playing a halo game but you have turned me off of that. Microsoft you need to decided what the xbox one is going to be is it a gaming console with entertainment features of an entertainment center that plays games sony has chosen gaming console, and Nintendo has as well, what about you.

2. No ps4 release date yet
Hey guys you have a great console give us a firm release date now ok. The whole holidy 2013 could mean anytime between now and then so give us a time already so we cant start planning the midnight launch parties and midnight all night gaming parties and such ok.

3. Pricing
This is a mixed bag while the PS4 is only 399.00 the Xone is 499.00 and that is without a game with a game you looking at a added cost of 50.00 per game this is so sad espically for Microsoft while I hope they do some kind of reduced system this is still going to hurt them

4. PS4 no firm lineup
The ps4 pretty much won this years E# but we don’t know what all games are going to be available at launch many of us are going to be ordering the systems now so we really need to know what games are going to be available we know a few but you have to tell us all of them.

5.PS4 pay to play
I kinda figured this would happen but it was still a heatbreak to hear it and while I understand it does not mean I have to like it I do hope they continue using the pay cards you can buy and not go totally to credit cards.

The good things
1.Finally we get some firm info
Well we finally got what we had been waiting for, firm info on the connectivity issues of the consoles as well as the used games what did we learn.
Sony supports used games, microsoft doesn’t.
For sony you don’t have to connect your system online if you don’t want to and you don’t need move to play it
For Microsoft you need to connect online at least once every twenty four hours to play anything and you need knnect to play it
While a lot of this info made gamers want to bang their heads against the wall it atleast got the elephant out of the room to let us know where they systems stand on these issues

2. Halo coming to TV
Steven spielberg teaming up with Microsoft for a Halo tv series is great!!!! I played the first halo on pc but not the others but I still read some of the books and comics. The halo universe is a great place for this collaboration and if it works out like it is supposed to then hopefully both the gaming world and the tv world will benefit.however games do not have a good track record in the movie world so lets see how this goes

3. Watchdogs and Call of duty
Watch dogs This is the game I love, I love the whole tech feel of the game and let me tell yea every time I see this game it looks great and beautiful. Call of duty is back and Ghosts looks great also plus by taking it out of the modern warfare storyline and into a new story it opens up a lot of great things.

4. Finally we get to see the PS4
We finally saw the ps4 and it looks great and sleek. I love it and cant wait for it.

5. New halo and titan fall
Halo 5 looks flipping awesome and while as of now I am not getting a Xone I still thinks this is a good thing in that the halop universe is a great univese and the fans will be pleased. Titan fall shows that an new system needs a new io and while it is only coming to Xone it looks great and hopefully will come to PS4 too.


There you have it was a great e3 and showed us gamers what is right around the corner and while there was some disappointments it was mostly good news and hopefully a very good year for gamers I about to begin. Game on

Xbox one Post reveal my thoughts

Well the new xbox called XBOX ONE was revealed to the world to much fanfare and hype and many questions and while I am glad that we now know what it is going to look like and a few of the games as well as some extra information, a lot of questions still remain.

1.How connected will the xbox one have to be?
While the question of an always online platform was answered with a no it does not have to be always connected to play the system. new information now revealed that the system may very well have to connect to the internet at least one a day. While I hope this is just a rumor if it turns out to be true it will stop a lot of gamers from buying the system as many as an always online console did. I truly believe that until the digital network of the united states is available to every person then an always online system should be OPTIONAL!!!!

2. What games will be available at launch?
At the reveals it was revealed that Forza Motorsport 5, Call of duty ghosts, And quantum Break all were revealed to be launch titles, not a whole lot on games were revealed I think this will be remedied at the E3 expo in June, a few more games could have been revealed

3. How will Xbox  live evolve for the new system?
Xbox live the online component of the Xbox, has to evolve and change for the new system especially if the hope to cater to the hardcore gamer, yet it cannot get so any new gamer gets overloaded with all the new features, also what about the library you have now for the xbox 360, while it was revealed that 360 games will not be playable on the Xone can you buy or get them over xbox live digitally.

4. How will the Halo tv series affect the games?
While I am thrilled that Halo is coming to tv, even more so with steven spielberg at the helm I am concerned what this will mean for the future of the franchise. Something like this has never been done before, if it works out meaning they get a network that gives them free reign, avoid the pitfalls many others fell into, and able to bridge the gab between the fans and the people who know nothing about halo. Then it could be a great series, if not then this is could be a very bad blow to halo and also to any hopes that other video games could have of coming to tv

While the press conference reveal did not reveal everything there was a lot I did and did not like

What I liked
The games announced looked awesome and having 8 games at launch is going to be great.

The ability to seamlessly switch between gaming, to movies, to tv looked awesome.
 
The ability to turn on the system by telling it to

What I did not like
Connect needed to play the system I love the controller but I donlt like connect and I think connect should have been optional

How the cloud will affect single player games

How the best feature were feature of entertainment more than gaming

Still unknown as to how connected will the device need to be

Finally What will the entire launch lineup look like besides what was shown

to me it seemed to be an entertainment device more than a gaming device. The whole thing made to Xone seem more like another cable box than a video game console to me I buy a new console to play games, while I am glad that things like netflix, ESPN and other are on their the reveal didn’t really reveal much for gamers as much as it did for entertainment buffs. Still I think that many of these concerns will be rectified at E3 in june but if not then for me at least sony is getting my dollar and probably the win of this new generation.

Ps3 Game review The walking dead episodic game, and Bioshock infinite

hello everyone
well this past mont i have had the priviledge to play two good games the reviews are below.

Bioshock infinite
let me say this is the first bioshock game i haveand let me say it was good, let me get this straight it was good not great first off they did alot of things ight. A good mystery, and flawed hero, and damisel in distress who alot of the time aint really in distress, alot of things to discover. what did they do wrong. Well first off their were times i got lost in the story, or didn't really understand what was going on. The ending left much to be desired. Still these grumps are not that big but do distract from the single player campaign that could have been much more.

The Walking dead episodic game episodes one through five
Let me say that this is not a game as much as an interactive movie or comic book. Which does not take away from the experience. The game is very well done and does change depending on your choices. The characters ae done great and the choices you make do affect your relationships with them. you do have an emotion connection to your character as well as the others the ending depends on your choics and is ratifying at first but then leaves on a cliffy which gets on my nerves a bit still a great game.

Iron Man 3 Theater Review

hello everyone
well it all began tonight Marvel Comics ambitious Phase 2 multi year plan for their movies and it started with the movie Iron Man 3 and let me say it was a great movie.

First off what was done right, first off the connection to last years Marvel's The Avengers was evident but not overly so, this is definitely a story about tony stark but a story about what happened after new york. Secondly all the characters are back and do more happy6  and pepper are fleshed out more and have grown since Iron Man 2 and the Avengers, and it shows. third off alot of the comic fans will reconize many easter eggs from the comics Finally this is a story about tony facing the what ifs and also facing the past and coming to terms with it and it tells this story great.

What went wrong nothing much, first off a major story line from the comics was glossed over and the mandarin while incredibly evil at first was revealed to be something weak later.

these complaints are small compared to the successes of the movie and if this how marvel is starting phase two then boy we are in for one heck of a ride

Prayers for boston and the town of West Texas

Hello all
My heart and prayers go out to the families affected in the Boston marathon bombings, it is truly sad what has happened there and no one no matter the politics or beliefs deserved what happened there

Also my heart goes out to the families affected in the west Texas  Explosion my prayers go to the families affected

during rough time I find the bible a way of getting us through this here is a scripture to give comfort to those who are hurting

The lord is good a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him

so to those who are hurting whether from these tragedies or others it is my prayer that you take refuge in the lord and he will get you through anything

North Korea my Take

hello everyone
well here we are again North Korea is at it again. Only this time the leader is different and does not know when to call it a day let me say my point of view of north Korea. Before I begin I need to say I am not a soldier I am a normal civilian but here is how I say it

first off lets face it sanctions are not working
lets face facts north Korea does not care about the un sanctions put on it. It is going to keep on making nukes until something is done about them. The more nukes they get the more we need to help south Korea and the more worried we need to be that the technology will wind up in terrorist or other rogue nation hands.

secondly we can no longer be afraid of the collapse
North Korea collapsing and having a huge humanitarian crisis this is going to happen eventually as North Korea is burning it bridges with everyone even its friends. Everyone knows that communism and isolation leads to collapse and unless something changes that will happen eventually at least now we can have assets in place to help and services in place to help get these people to a better life.

make no mistake about it this is going to be bloody
lets get something straight I don't want a war no one does but lets face it we have been at war with the North Korea for a long time now it is time to finish it. However that needs to be tempered with the realization that this is not going to be IRAQ or Afghanistan. this is going to be a full fledged war with fanatics as crazy as the Taliban and hard core. This will not be without loss of life and treasure so before we do anything we need to make sure we are ready for this.

Friend of our enemy is our friend
Right now as we look at this situation there is someone we need to look at CHINA. for a long time china has kept North Korea going for its own interest, now thought it is apparent that everything North Korea has done reflects on China. Still they are the wildcard and before anything we need a way to deal with them so they are not approving but not exactly sending troops in support of the current regime

Whatever happens we need to keep and eye on this and see what happens because this is something that does affect us American but also our troops over there who are in the middle of this situation.

Red Dawn remake DVD movie reviiew

a good movie but not like the original


hey all first off let get to the elephant in the room, this movie IS NOT LIKE THE ORIGINAL!!! there are a lot of differences and the emotional connection that the original had is not present, and while there are times where this movie improves the scenes of the original the original will always be the better one. Another thing I want to say I am very disappointed in the makers for not adding anything to the blu ray which is why I got the dvd. In this day and age if hey want more of our money for a blu ray they need to add something more than just a digital copy. If you can get past these and some other issues you will see a pretty good movie


the action sequences are done well, there are times were the jerky camera can take away from the scene but all in all the action sequences all pretty good.

Chris Helmsworth, and josh peck do grab you as brothers, and Jeffery dean Morgan is believable as a member of the free American army, and the rest while they try they really don't hold you but many of them do show potential.

The story this is where the movie kinda has a little problem, there are major plot holes in the story that are never truly resolved or explained there are times where you got to kinda ask why this or that happened but these are far between, but are still there never the less and the ending while good could have been better.

Special features This is where I really got disappointed I was ready to buy the blu ray but when I saw that the only extra they offered was a digital copy I got the dvd instead. Film district and many other studios need to realize that in order to get our hard earned movie for blu ray they need to add more than just a digital copy. I was very disappointed that the blu ray did not offer anything more substantial special feature than a digital copy.

still these are not big problems and the movies is something unique there has not been many America invaded films for awhile and while this is good it could have been better.

i got suckered again

hello all
recently I began watching a tv show called zero hour on my local channel on ABC. I now find out that it has gotten canceled after only three episodes. Again I got sucked into a really good show only to have it get canceled because of the whole it is cheaper adage. Look many more people are now getting there tv more ad more off the internet now more than ever I wonder why look tv companies you want people to watch more of their channel, then cut down on the reality shows, no offense I understand that there will always be reality shows but the problem is that there are TOO MANY. give us some variety, some choices. Also if you want something cheaper got to burger king and get a value meal but for really good tv spend the dollars and give it time to grow a fan base.

Playstion 4(PS4) announcement

well it finally happened Sony announced the next gen video game console the PS4 it was a big announcement and we learned a little about what is to come when the console launches this fall here is my take on it:

Where is the console?   While i am very happy that we now know that there will be another console this yea i was disappointed that the actual console was not shown. and while there is good reason for this according to sony the final version of the console is not set in stone. it would have been a good idea what to expect.

Beginning lineup looks good but Nothing mind blowing yet! let me say the lineup looks good Games like Watch dogs and Diablo 3 are okay but where are the exclusive games that make us excited for the console. While Killzone Shadow fall and Infamous second son look great where is the games that we have to buy the console for where is the playstation version of Halo or Gears of war.

Finally one BIG question answered but that leaves a few left. Well after the announcement it was revealed that the PS4 will not block used games. This is good news both for the gamers and the industry yet that leaves a few questions left like What about always on internet connection or what about the next Xbox

Share Share away.   last night one of the really neat things i saw was how social interaction was going to take place, before it would take alot of extra equipment to record gameplay footage to share over facebook, or twitter now there is a button on the controller that does it for you which is awesome and great. I also think that this has some major possibilities for gaming companies especially if you can add text to the footage but i think this is only the begining and that as the system is upgraded this will be too

 Sorry move is a fad. Listen i will continue to blieve this but move is still klunky and i dont like it i think it is great for exercise but not for shooters or adventure games and until it is able to translate better to games i like to play i wont. I think it is a good idea to intergrate it with the new console but until they get it right they need to keep the old fashioned controller like they have.

a few final things let me say that i am not a big fan of the  touchscreen dual shock 4 controller yet but i am going to have an open mind, i dont like all the apps for the sony yet either but i think that it has possibilities, but to me i think tablets intergration is nice but i think that xbox will do it better and finally remote play i am not a big fan of.

Well in the end i think this was a good start to a very interesting gaming season now the Xbox needs to come out and wow us or PS4 will again be the top dog in gaming

Good bye G4 Goodbye Xplay and AOTS

hello all
as i am writing this i am watching a replay of one of my favorite shows AOTS or as it is known as Attack of the Show/ This and another show known as Xplay were two of the only shows on the network i watched but it was not always like that as we say goodbye lets us look back at g4 and see how it was and how it now ends

G4 originally started out as techtv a channel for technology but as time went one it became g4 the place for nerds, gamers, and fanboys. Many of its best shows like the anime quest of the stars and of course Xplay and AOTS were some of the mainstays of the channel. Xplay was a game review show that let me know what games to look at what to buys and which ones to avoid and AOTS was a show that kept me updated on the happenings in the world of technology and movies and news i should keep an eye out for. these two shows let me know that what was going on in the world of technology and their coverage of E3 and comic con San Diego  now that these two shows are going to the sands of time i will have to turn to other sources of news for the things i want to know about. as for g4 it is going to become gqtv of G4men or whatever they call a tv channel for mens fashion.(shakes head in disgust) goodbye Xplay goodbye AOTS goodbye g4 you will be missed by all us gamers and nerds who have through the years deoended on you for the news we counted on.

New year new systems(hopefully)

hello all
Today after owning one for nearly two yeas i traded in my Ps3 at gamestop with a lot of games. Now many are saying why would i do this simple the new consoles are coming out in october and i want plenty of time for preorders. Still it is sad i no longer have a ps3 so this blog is a way for me to say good bye.

First off ps3 you were great and while i was never able to go on the internet with you because i dont have high speed you had alot of great games in your lifetime and plus you were solid you didn't break easily and you were as system i could depend on

Secondly you gave me alot of great memories with games like AC3 Black ops 1 and 2 modern warfare, ghost recon, uncharted, and many other and while because of my decision there will be some games for you i will not be able to play like Dead space 3 and Bioshock infinate i still have a great ride with you

Now that i have said goodbye the next part is my hopes for the new system whether it is the net Xbox or Ps4 these are my hopes for the next systems

First let me be clear on this DONT BLOCK USED GAMES!!!!!!! this idea is stupid and will cause alot of problems throughout the gaming world so please dont do it yet

secondly: dont put alot of flash in your systems there is one reason reason why alot of us buy your systems it is to play games not watch netflix, netflix hulu and the other things are cool and all but dont make them the core of a system intended to play games.

Third  Microsoft kinect and playstation move dont work for the hardcore games. They are ok for working out and for kiddy games but dont work for the rest of us so until they do stop trying to push them so hard ok.

fourth  dont make them online all the time. There are some places in the country where an always online connection is not possible for one reason or another so until that is possible everywhere make sure you continue to all off line gaming

this is i hope they listen and if not well i air my mind
