2012 year in review

hello everyone
well this has been one heck of a year hasn't it from the weather to the politics to well everything we have had tragedy, hopes renews, and dreams shattered. yet we are all still here(sorry mayans your were wrong) still though as we look back and remember the year here is a few points to take in:

• First of the crazy people of the us were still able to cause destruction and chaos from aurora, to Newton Conn people who had some mental problems were able to take lives and destroy people And becuase of this old ideas around the second amendment were questioned
• The mayan were wrong we are still here and no new golden age dawned on us.
• Mother nature hit us bad this year from the tornadoes in the spring to a storm called sandy in the fall mother nature proved to us that nothing we make can withstand her fury.
• Powerful men fell from improprieties maybe this will convince the others to not do such things
• congress still sucks they need to get their act together

that is just a small list of things that have happened this year it is my hope that god will bless us with a better yea but whatever happens i hope god blesses you and yours in this new year.

2 Tragedies one week

hello all this week has not been a good one for this country, first off we have the tragedy today at the eleme3ntary school in CT that took the lives of 20 teachers, and 8 people one of them being the deranged shooter himself, then just a couple of days ago another deranged shooter goes on another rampage in a mall shooting in Oregon on Tuesday that took the lives of 3 people. One week one bloody week in american history. In the weeks to come there will be many questions asked some suggestions appointed that many will not like on either side but for tonight and for the rest of the month it is my hope that we as a country can come together and give all the support we can for the kids and adults who lives have been lost ot these deranged killers

Call of Duty:Black ops 2 Single Player Review

"The following deals with the single player componet only not the multiplayer"
Hello all
Well it has finally arrived the game that people have been waiting for since may. Call of Duty Black ops 2 the sequel to the game that gave use Call of duty Zombies, that gave us crossbows in combat and told of cold war espionage, and conspiracy. This time the it is just as heavy on the conspiracy and more of advanced tech. Without giving to much away the story take place in the future against a terrorist with a very bad agenda, but also flashes back to the 90s with another character that connects to the terrorist. First off the story is very believable. With tech that while it being futuristic is very much rooted in reality, with many of the devices looking like they could be on the drawing board today. The characters are incredible whether they be in the past or future are great and you connect with them even the bad guys.

The best part of the single player campaign is the choices you make, throughout the game are certain points whee you can make a choice and it will affect the game very much some of these choices take place at the beginning when you load up a certain kit then you gain access to certain areas or abilities but in the levels themselves you can make choices that have certain affects, these could range from something small such as a new route being open to  a character living or dying to a side mission or strikeforce misson being available and these choices even what strike force missions are taken and completed effect how the story ends. Speaking of the strike force missions these side missions reflect on the story and also act like a strategy game in some ways but the intelligence of your allies in these missions is somewhat lacking and it is just better to control the characters in the missions than to look and give commands.

Then there is zombies a game within a game that i think is ok but i am not a fan of zombies but the game itself is very well done with the bus and everything and is fun if you looking for a quick time of shooting and killing zombies, however if you like shooting zombies this is a great time for you and i think this should be given its own game by now..

This game is more than likely the last great game of 2012 and a true great one at that it is a game that will keep you hooked and make you want to replay it to get the addition story lines and make different choices and see where the future leads

Ps3 Video Game review Assassins Creed 3

Well i just got through playing Assassins Creed 3 and let me tell you that while the game does have it's problems it is still a great game nevertheless. First off let me starts with what makes the campaign so great and that is the story really hooks you in. The story from beginning to end is gripping and filled with historical set pieces that leave you wondering if something like this could have happened back then. Revolutionary America is gripping and you get an incredible sense of wonder from the cities to the area where you hunt to the battles, deceptions, and lies. to the choices truths, and consequences of the main character his allies, enimes, and the historical players that inhabit the game. The game is also one of these games where there is always something to do. From beefing up the homestead, to sailing and fighting on ships, to playing the main mission, to hunting and selling your game. To training assassins, to liberating boston and new york all of these are possible in the game. It is literally possible to spends hours on the game and and not play the main story. And every side mission you take has a benefit there is no busy mission or mission that are there for the heck of it. The backgrounds, and sounds are all very well done and help fold you into this fiction and the missions that include modern day segments are the same way. Very good and grab hold of you and play interigal parts of the story.

Still not all is right in AC3 there are some problems with this game. First off there is definately some graphical hiccups with the game. Every once in a while your horse will go through a building or you will get stuck to a building. Secondly the fact that there is so much to do can actually be a downside as it might overload some players.also there are parts of the game like the convoy and the crafting that feel like they were tacked on or added just so they could and have no real use in the game. These are minor gripes to a great game.

 With Assassins Creed 3 coming out in only a few days I decided to buy Assassins Creed Revelation the previous entry in this series and let me say it is worth every penny. In this game you play as three different characters. The first is desmond miles a man of the present day who has found himself hooked up to an alien device called an animus that can relive the lives of his ancestors. The second person you play is ezio auditore a assassin who lives in Constantinople in the 16th century trying to figure out the mystery behind altair's library, and finally the last person is Altair a assassin of the 13th century that is trying to keep is assassin order intact and also trying to protect a artifact called the Apple of eden. All of these stories link very well and tell a very comprehensive story. Whether you are playing as one or another the controls go over very well, and the sounds of the cities are all their own. Whether it is Constantinople, or modern day or the dungeons of altair's time all of the locations have a feel all their iwn and it is very well done. However the one aspect that could have been left out is the bomb making and while I like what they tried to do it just doesn't feel right, and feels like it is incomplete that there was supposed to be more but wasn't. The assassins missions, time trials, mercenary missions, are some ways to earn in game money to which to buy different weapons. All of which are very useful and a unique situation for which to be used. The best part of the game is the den missions which becomes sort of like a strategy game where you try to protect your territory. It is very fun and requires a lot of intelligence and some clear headed thinking. All and all Assassins Creed:Revelations is a very well done game with maybe one or two problems but in total very fulling and a great way to prepare for AC3

Mass effect three Ps3 review

Hello all
 I just got through playing the PS3 game Mass effect and let me tell you it ends the trilogy very very well. Most of the threads that have been left over from the first two games have been resolved and leaves the player with a sense of accomplishment at the end. Secondly there is not any downtime in the game where you are wondering what to do next or just exploring. There is literally always something to do like a side quest or looking for artifacts or some other thing that needs doing. All the characters are back from the original two games, and they have fleshed out the characters a lot more. The beginning and ending of the games are great and while there was a controversial ending to many to me it was a great way to end the saga. One of the great things about this game is the ability to take you character from mass effect 2 and play it on ME3 I think this is a great feature to fans of the series. Also if you have not played the series yet you can create a character and play as a all new character. This game is very well done. 8.0 out of ten stars

Fall has finally arrived after several months if having to deal with high humidity, high temperatures, and higher levels of mosquitoes fall has finally decided to arrive. I hope everyone out there enjoys it and welcomes it with a blessing that is long overdue. I can finally smile again fall has arrived and soon winter will be right behind it.

Movie theatre review of Dark knight rises

Last weekend I went and saw one of the most anticipated movies of 2012 the final installment of christopher nolan's Move trilogy around batman this movie is called the Dark Knight Rises and let me say it is a very good movie one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. It is not everyday that you see a movie that will be remembered for a long time/ My parents generation had Star Wars, my generation had the Matrix, this generation will have the Dark Knight rises. This movie does so many things well that is is amazing to see how they could have gotten it all in one movie. The many threads that were left over from the previous movies is tied up nicely and even expanded on in some cases. The battle scenes are very well done, and the way it is shot you are left in suspense up to the final scene of the movie. For all the batman fans, there are many little cookies or special scene that Fans Will look at and know instantly know about and understand while the non batman fan will just enjoy the scene this is a must see movie and one I will be definitely getting when it comes out on DVD.

The amazing Spider Man Movie Theatre Review

I just got back from a seeing the Amazing Spider man at the theater. Let me say it was an excellent movie. First off Andrew garfield is an excellent peter parker, he has all the traits of parker but as the movie progresses it does wear seem like some of the traits that parker had seems to fade as the movie progresses.

Secondly one of the most memorable lines in all of comics "with great power comes great responsibility" was taken out in this movie but was very prevalent in the theme of the movie.

finally the lizards was a great villian in this movie you could tell alot of research went into learning about this villian as well as the hero and both are done very well and while some things have been changed to accomidate the movie the reboot it is faith ful to the comics and to the actors who have played him on both the movies and tv. it is a great movie and one i cant wait to see on dvd

Ghost recon future soldier review

I just recently got through playing ghost econ future soldier and let me say I am very pleased with the game. One of the big aspects of a tom clancy game is story and this one is no different. It is a story the grabs you and doesn't let go. Secondly if you are a fan of the series whether it be the Ghost recon series from the 90's or the more recent Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter that came out a couple of yeas ago there is links to both of those in this game series. Secondly many of the technological tools at your disposal in the game from the weapons you use to the stealth camo you player uses are all currently in development somewhere in the world, which does add a layer of realism to the game. Many of the controls in the game are very fluid and if you have ever played a shooter game before will be easy to pick up. The animations are great, and doing things like stealth kills is great and easy. The environments you player goes to can be from arctic to desert. The gunsmith option is also very neat. This allows you ot customize your weapons in many many way from the gas system to the optics on the top. Yet the game does have it's faults first off, the guerilla mode could have been so much more than another horde rip off, secondly when you begin the game there are not many options available to you in the gunsmith area, so your customization choices will be very limited In the beginning. Still these are very minor gripes to a game the is very well written and well created

Movie Theater Review Marvel's The Avengers

hello everyone
i just got back from seeing the movie The Avengers and let me say it was freaking AWESOME. I have not been wowed like that in a long time. Joss whedon the director hit all the right notes and does everything right to bring together this motley band of heroes. It is very evident that this movie was not only made by a comic fan but a movie fan, and the scenes, whether they are fight scenes or battle scenes, humorous or whatever ae done right and at the appropriate time never once did the movie get bogged down by bringing together so many heroes, on the contrary it excels at bringing so many heroes together. This is one of those movies that future filmmakers will look at to know how a superhero or even an action film is to be done right. Let us hope the momentum continues for the others marvel movies coming out but if this movie is any indication then the momentum is in full force and nothing is going to stop it.

Book Review Against All Enemies By Tom Clancy and Peter Telep

I recently got finished reading the Tom clancy and peter Telep book Against all enemies and it is a good book but not a great one. First off tom clancy may have his name on the cover but Peter Telep does the writing so if you are expecting a return of the master storyteller then you are going to be disappointed. However with that said this book is a decent read. First off the characters are well done and have the feel of SEALs or cop or however. Not once did you think that a SEAL would not do that or a Cop not does this. The research done in this book is well done and it shows throughout. Secondly there are a couple of times where you will not want to put the book down cause you want to know what happens next. And finally the ending feels natural and not rushed and gives a petty good conclusion to everything. However not everything is good in this book. First off it is a LONG book. This is not a book for nighttime reading but for reading when you got plenty of time to kill. Secondly if you ae not familiar with a lot of the techniques or tactics of the military you will get lost by some of the things they do and and some of the equipment they use. And finally while thee are a few great moments in the book, they are far between and when action does happen it is too quick. Still this is a decent read to pick up if you have the time to kill and if you like tom clancy books it is a good one to try out.

Mass Effect 2 Ps3 Review

Hello all for a while now i have head alot about this Scifi RPg mass effect now first off let me say that i am not an RPG fan, when i think RPg's i think of spells and sorcery, and swords and that aint my thing i like, action, shooting, and explosions. Well let me say after playing ME2 i was glad to be surprised. This game is a work of art and very rarely do i play a game that can hook me in like this and keep me hooked. The games has both elements of shooters and rpg's. It has quests, but plenty of weapons. This is a game that both shooter fans and RPG fans alike can appreciate. First off what is so great about this game is the customization. You can make you character male or female, an orphan or a rich anything you want. You have multiple classes to choose from and unlike most shooters you know who you are playing as intimately instead of as casually. Secondly is the cast of characters you meet along the way, these different beings from around the galaxy are very diverse in how they do things and many of the side quests you take are to earn their loyalty and respect. Another thing that is really good about it is that your actions have consequences for you character in how the universe treats you. Make to many evil choices and you will be a renegade make many good choices and you are a paradigm. finally the story all of the above would be meaningless if the story did not hook you in and make you want to play, and let me say this story ranks up there with some of the best scifi i have seen in a long while. The story has, mystery, intrigue, love, hope, anger, friendship, enemies, this story has all of the elements to hook anyone whether they are a RPG fan or shooter fan this story will hook them. Also another thing is that this game is LONG. which is a good thing in my book, this game can hook you and keep you hooked for a while and with all the customazation options available it will keep you wanting to come back for more yet not all is right on ME2 first off it is very difficult to see your choices screen in the dialogue, and if you have never played a RPG before the learning curve can be a bit steep but other than that this is a great game and on that should not be missed. 9.5 out of ten

Homefront Ps3 Review

every now and then you see and play a game that has so much promise and is not particularly bad but it does not live up to what it could have been, Homefront is one of these games. First off the story is very good, i really did enjoy the story in this game and it does bring forth a very rich history and environment that you can get lost in. Secondly the characters are very believable and make the situations they are in more believable they add flair, humor, seriousness, and sadness to the game. The gameplay is one area it does fall short on, it is standard shooter flair and with game like Call of duty Modern Warfare 3 and battlefield 3 taking things up a notch, standard is not good enough any longer, another area where this game falls flat is the length, i finished this game in 2 days, most games now days last longer, another area is the ending, i really hate it where the ending seems rushed, and this is one game that does it. While it was good it was still rushed and left alot open. In closing this game is not necessarily bad but the length, the fact that they played it safe and the ending left alot to be desire, but this is a game that has much promise, and with a sequel being developed by Crytek the people behind far cray, i believe this is only the beginning.

Assassins Creed 2 Ps3 Review

hello all
for a while now all i have heard about is this game series called Assassins Creed well i went out and bought AC2 and let me say i am impressed, the people ay Ubisoft know how to make games and they did a good one with this game and if this is any indication then the rest of the series should be great also.
First off the good, this is an open world game similar to GTA or Infamous whee you have the main quest and several side quest you can perform. That brings us to one of the biggest advantages of this game, is variety. There is so much to do that you will rarely have to guess what you are going to do next. Secondly the story is very well done, with alot of history mixed with a little science fiction. The characters and the settings all impressive and so alot of forethought and research into the era as will as the politics of the time frame it takes place in as well as the people who appear in the game. the fighting is well done and the action keeps you into the games and makes it hard to put the controller done, and also it take a little while to finish the game which is always a good thing.
However, not all is good on the AC2 first off the lock on system used for fighting takes some getting used too, secondly the games take a little bit to get going good, and finally at times there can be too much to do in the game especially towards the end of the game. yet these are minor complaints for a game that definitely worth at least a rental but for people who enjoy good stories and definite buy

Being wrong sucks

just recently my little sister got a laptop, while I had a desktop computer she wanted a trade, being the loving brother that I am I agreed, now when I first got this laptop I was concerned, that it was just a fad something for business, stock brokers and richie rich people to have and toy with and not having a high speed connection at home concerned me, but I still took the chance and went with it. Now, I am glad I did all my concerns were very much unfounded. And now I love going on the laptop and watching my favorite shows in the living room instead of jumping back and forth between my bedroom and the living room. I now can facebook during all my favorite shows, and more. I now admit my preconceived notions about laptops were very wrong. My only concern is that now I got to learn how to use the computer all over again but that will not be to hard it might even be fun. Still being wrong sucks

Killzone 3 Review

I just recently got through playing the game killzone 3 and let me say that I was very impressed and liked the game a lot. First off let me say a lot of my gripes with Killzone 2 were fixed in this version, the targeting, story and characters are all better and very well done. The guns have been leveled out finally make the assault rifle for the Good guys at the same power as the one for the bad guys. Another good thing about the game is that the graphics are excellent and the sound is right along with them. Yet all is not wine and roses one of the bad things about the game is the ending does leave something to be desired, while it leaves an opening for a sequel the actual ending does feel rushed. Secondly, it does not immediate show you where to go only tells you while this is solved with a next objective button, this is still a hassle that does not need to be one. Still these are minor gropes on a great game that should not be missed by shooter fans

Future Christianity

hello all
For a long time I have been saved and been a believer in god and Jesus. Yet I have seen many people leave church all together. While I will always believe and will continue to go, I think it is high time we addressed the main problem with getting new believers, and here our three points I think will help us get a new generation of Christians and help keep them on the right path.

1.Do not be afraid of technology embrace it
one of the things I notice is that a younger generation finds a lot about their world through social media websites(facebook, twitter , etc) we as Christians need to learn how to embrace this new technology in order to get a younger generation to embrace god. some of the things that can be done is posting the message of the day on the church's twitter account, Record your sermon and after all the services are over on sunday night post them to Facebook. These are just some of the ideas that I think will draw more young people back to church.

2 Change what would Jesus Do to What would Jesus do today
Many of the teachings in the bible took place in ancient times and those lessons are still relevant today, however a younger generation does not want to know about ancient times they want to know about modern times so a way to get more people into church is to make Jesus teachings relevant in today;s world. Make the generation that has grown up on Video Games, Reality TV and youtube come to understand that the teachings of ancient times cane still be used today to help them live a righteous and in most cases a good life. Like I said before Turn what would jesus do to What would Jesus do today

3.Dont forget
I think that with all we do today we can still forget some of the major tenants of being christian and we can forget what the lord wants anD do what we want espically when technology is involved. It is easy for anyone to get lost in the world instead getting lost in the word so dont forget. You are a believer in Jesus Christ, he does have a plan for you as long as you follow his teachings and do one thing Believe in him.

These are just three ideas I personally think need to be considered in hopes of fulfilling Christ’s great commandment, which is to bring others to the one and only lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Ps3 Review Uncharted Dual Edition

Hello all a little before the third game in the series came out Uncharted:Drake Deception, Naughty Dog the developers of the Uncharted series released the first two games in the series Uncharted:Drake Fortune and Uncharted:Among Thieves. Let me say I am very pleased with both game. The first Game Uncharted Drake fortune is a very well wounded game, with lots of humor, and action. More than once did I find myself laughing at the lines and how the characters interacted with each other the game's only problem is that it is a little too difficult to pull off major fighting combo. The cream of this two game set is Uncharted 2 Among thieves The second game of the series is excellent, enhancing all that made the first game so good and adding a few new spins to the mix, the controls are tighter than before and pulling off massive combos, and stealth kills is very easy and fun to do. With the story getting a major boost to length and breath of the overall story.
First off let me say that for 39.99 this is a great deal for two used games, the games are excellent and worth the money you would buy for a new game. Secondly the games themselves are great, enjoyable, and a blast to play, and finally it sets you up for the new Uncharted 3 all in all this is a great set to buy for someone

Ps3 Game Review Medal of Honor Limited Edition

Hello all
I just got through playing a well crafted game, and let me say the people at danger close did a good job with Medal of Honor, while not a call of duty it is still a good game. First off let me say the controls are very familiar to someone who has played shooter before, so learning and getting used to the controls will not be hard for someone who has played Call of duty, or any other shooters. Secondly the attention to detail in terms of military tactics, is very evident and the story shows this as well. Third the graphics and sound make if feel like you are in these environments. From the way the lens flare when you looks at the sun to the way the snow crunches from your foes footsteps is very well dont and really pulls you into the game
However, not all is good there is some bad to this game, for one it is short not very short but two short for me, it took me 3 days to finish the story where as Call of duty took a week or more, secondly, once the single player the only mode is tier one mode which is more like time attack than anything else, and finally the extra game Medal of Honor frontline while a good nostalgia trip is very frustrating and not worth the time to install and play. Still it is a okay buy for the money but I would buy something else also when you buy this as the time it takes to complete does bring down the story a lot.

Infamous Ps3 Game Review

Hello all
I just got through playing the game infamous and let me say I was very impressed with the game. While not giving much of the story away, the game is a open world action adventure. In the game you play a person with super powers and you have to choose his path either hero or villain and throughout this path you have to discover the origin of your powers. Throughout the game your choices determine how the world and espically the people will see you, will they see you are the protector of the city or as it's destroyer. Will the woman you love look at you with pride or disgust, what about your best friend these are all questions that the game poses to you and asks which path will you choose, there also plenty of extras throughout the game that give hints to the event that gave you your powers. There are a couple of bad points, one thing is that the ending boss fight is really easy, secondly the graphics are choppy at times, and if you have never played a game like this the learning curve can be a bit ruff, but if you can overlook this short comings this is a very excellent game

Counterspace book review

Counterspace is written by William b Scott, Michael J. Coumatos, and William J. Birnes.

It is a good novel while not great it is very good with a decent amount of love, war and more importantly a glimpse at what the future of warfare could entail in a more technology based war. The book is the sequel to the book SPACE WARS. The book takes off almost immediately after the first one and continues to shw the ramifications of a degraded space network and also what crazy people with nuclear bombs can do. The book while good is not great and does have some flaws, for one if you have not read the first one you might get lost with the story, secondly there is a lot of military terminology while some is explained a great deal is not and if you are not familiar with it you might get lost in the wording of the different organizations, and finally some of the actions of the characters are suspect and some of the events that propel the story are suspect as well, one of these being a major event at the very beginning of the story. Still the books is a great read and does give insight into what may be the first shots in the next great conflict. Those shots will not be of bullets but of satellites, data, and electrons.

Call of Duty Black ops Ps3 Review

*this review is for the single player and the zombie portions of the game only

When i first bought this game just about a couple of days ago i did not know what i was going to get for one thing it aint made by the same people as the Modern Warfare series, secondly it takes place during the cold war. Let me say this game is just as good as Modern Warfare 2 while not being as a MW3 it is still a great game to play. The story keeps you hooked to the end mixing in a what is real and what is fake thing going, it also feature alot of major plats from the 60's. All The guns are authentic to the time period and keep the story grounded in the 60's. The controls are very solid and react smoothly and quickly to your input on the controller The zombies portion of the game while a survivor mode does feel very different and new and with alot of games doing the horde or survivor mode in games now days that is something to note. also the game takes the series to another dimension with flying levels which are good

There are 2 downsides to this game, first off most of the missions are follow the leader types of missions and i hate those and secondly the flying portions of the game could have used a little tweaking in the shooting department besides those two this is a very good game enjoy
