Rememberance of July 4

Hello everyone
July 4th is nearly upon us. On that day 234 years ago we became a full fledged nation and since then have shaped and reshaped the world. WW2, WW1, manifest destiny, the Manhattan project, D-Day, Bernie madoff, War on terror, Operation Enduring Freedom, Baseball, Basketball All of these things in one major way we affected collectively over generations, we the united states has changed the world some say for good some say for worse. No matter what you think down the road many generations from now whether this great country is here or not. Children in history class will hear about both our triumphs and our failures. So as you celebrate the 4th of July in whatever way you choose remember that you are a small part of a nation that has changed history and no matter what side of the political isle you are one take pride in that and for one day at least dont be republican or democrat, dont be conservative or liberal, dont be left wing or right wing be American and remember the country we live in and how great it is.

Red Dawn 2010 Put on hold

i dont know how many of you remember this but back in 1984 a movie came out that has stuck with me since i first saw in it 1994. The name of the movie was Red dawn and the first five minutes could grab anyone and keep them focuses on the movie. to learn more about the movie go here

IMDB Red Dawn

Now though the remake of that infamous movie seems to be left in doubt i really liked the Original movie when i first saw it and continue to like it to this day. It is one of my most memorable movies and one of only three(star Wars a New hope and star wars the empire strikes back are the others)That i will literally shut the house down to watch. I hope the remake still comes out maybe as a DVd only release but now my hopes of ever seeing the remake seem in doubt. More info at

Gulf Oil Spill

hello everyone
For the past couple of weeks i have been watching the news about the gulf oil spill with dread. When i first heard about the spill right after the rigs was burned and those 11 workers were killed i though. OK, they are going to clean this up or else they will face a major burn by both the American public and the government. 45 days in and those thoughts are long gone. First off there are the fixes that never works, i mean i know this was a far flung possibility but they should have had a plan in case the impossible happened. Top, junk shot, top kill, i mean these are fixes bugs bunny would come up with if he were running from Wily E coyote. They are so far out there in hopes of working that they should have been used a a last option when nothing else worked, now they are trying to cut the pipe on top of the preventer to put another top hat on there. haven't we seen this before. Secondly they should have had a plan set up for such a oil spill i mean they are doing things half way when this is a major catastrophe and every possible plan should be brought in. Burms, flotation devices, everything should be brought in to save not only the beaches but the marshlands, ports and espically the fishing industry. Finally what about the fishermen who are out of work, BP says they will help them out even the goverment has said this but the government of late had been a day late and a dollar short when it come to helping out these people. I think this is the wake up call people need to take a better look at clean fuels and clean ways to generate power. Lets hope a hurricane dont come or this will be made worse.

p.s my prayers go to the families of the workers and the people affected by the tragedy.
